Mission Statement

The Anahuac Area Chamber of Commerce is a business organization comprised of businesses and individuals working together to promote and improve economic growth, stability and quality of life through communication and education for the benefit of the community.

What Does
the Chamber Do?

The Anahuac Area Chamber starts off each year honoring those who further the goals of the Chamber at its Annual Banquet. The highlight of the evening recognizes the Person of the Year – selected by the entire membership for their contributions to the community. Also recognized are Small Business, Outstanding Educator, Volunteer Group of the Year, and Lifetime Achievement.

The Chamber hosts a Political Forum during election years to give voters an opportunity to hear and ask questions of those running for public office.

In April, the Chamber hosts a luncheon to honor professional Secretary’s Day. The Chamber honors local law enforcement with a breakfast that coincides with National Police Week.

The Annual Four Man Scramble Golf Tournament, our spring event and fundraiser, is held in May at the beautiful Chambers County Golf Course.
In August, the Chamber hosts a New Teacher Breakfast to welcome new teachers to our community.

The Texas GATORFEST, by far the Chamber’s biggest event of the year, is a unique festival held in conjunction with the opening of alligator hunting season. The festival is held the first weekend after September 10th. It takes place at the beautiful Fort Anahuac Park on the Trinity River overlooking Trinity Bay. A combined effort of the Anahuac Area Chamber and area citizens, the festival’s total volunteer staff of over 450 workers see almost 30,000 people in attendance each year.

Chamber members eagerly anticipate and enjoy the annual Christmas Parade and ESA Sorority Tree Lighting. Citizens of the community gather on the lawn of the historic Chambers Home to watch the parade and tree lighting, and visit with Santa who arrives atop a fire truck.

Throughout the year, the Chamber hosts ribbon cuttings and participates in grand openings for new businesses or those becoming members of the Chamber.
